The Barrington Golf Association Fall Tournament is scheduled for
Saturday, October 26th
This is a competitive event using a Ryder Cup format. Only players living in Barrington who played in the Spring Tournament are eligible.
The BARRINGTON Civil War – the WAR BETWEEN THE STREETS
Tee times begin at 12:00 noon for the Men and 1:00 pm for the Women.
Men’s Tournament players should be at the practice green by 11:30 to get your match and hole assignments. We will also be providing a rules overview and details on scoring.
Women’s Tournament players please be at the course by 12:30.
After the round, we’ll be meeting at the Manor House for cocktails and awards at 5:00 pm. Cocktail hour is BYOB.
NORTH vs. SOUTH
The Men’s tournament will be a Ryder Cup style match play event with two teams representing the North and South sections of Barrington. Participation is limited, so sign up as soon as possible. You must have played in the Barrington Spring tournament to be eligible to play in this event. There will also be a Women’s 9 hole event. The women’s event will be a 2 person scramble.
The men’s event will be a match play format. Foursomes are determined by handicap and you will play against players with similar handicaps. The format will be 3 six-hole matches. The first two matches will be singles against the two players in your group from the other team. The third six hole match will be a best-ball match play between the two teams. Each match will be worth 1 point and there will be 5 points total from each foursome. Each match will be worth one point, regardless of how many holes are won or lost. Ties will split 1/2 point each. The team winner will the one with the most total points.
Registration is now OPEN for the 2024 event.
This is a very limited field event, and players who have played in the Spring tournament are given preference for participation. You must REGISTER by September 15th in order to be considered for a spot in the tournament. After the initial players are selected, others who have registered will be put on an alternate list based on the day they registered.
The deadline for registration and payment is September 15, 2024.
